6/19/07 - What’s Jason been doing?
Soaring into the depths of cyber space, by the looks of it. Ooowee! But that’s not it. What is it? What have I been doing with my time? Well, I guess you are just gonna have to wait and find out. At the rate that it’s been going I oughta be finished with this next story in about the same amount of time since my last web site update. Well, it might not be finished in three months but I’ll have something to show for it. It’s not Mirror Image. As much as I would like to make that story work, it’s just not happening yet. Back on the backburner it goes! (Hopefully not too far) I have some ideas lined up and Mirror Image is in there, but I gotta knock a few others out of the way first. The next one is currently untitled. Had a bunch of titles floating around, but nothing seems right. Looking forward to it though. Too bad there’s only one of you listening. That’ll change. So on this note, let me shed my final reason why I should never ever EVER go on a talk show. EVER!! I’ll give you a hint: it doesn’t cut to black…
I also decided to post the four panels we did for Sidewalk Arts Festival 2007. They were completed by a group of seven or eight of us; SCAD alumni, grad’s, faculty and under grad. A pretty good mix. Thank that bald guy Jeremy Mullins for organizing the whole thing. Without him, there would have been four less beautiful sidewalk squares on display (and more than likely four more really ugly ones!) Ciao biznatches!
03/11/07 - Hey look! Jason's been working! Below are the illustrations I did for Geneva, a small time local restaurant owner. Plus how they look incorporated with text for two of the three designs I did for her. Even further down is a portrait I did of Lori some time ago.
02/11/07 - There is hope on the horizon afterall! While I can't say
that I'll get paid for all the work I've done in the past couple months,
I can say that it's been worth it. A local restaurant owner asked me
to deisgn a couple of signs for her business. She originally asked
me about it back in October. It seemed like a good enough deal, except
that she wanted these signs to be lit up from behind. So naturally,
paint will not work. I spent the better part of my free time searching
for a means and have finally found it. Hooray! So where does that leave that whole "Mirror Image" thing I was doing? Well, first off I rewrote the story and completely revised the thumbnails. I've got everything ready to take to the final phase of inking and painting the thing. Needless to say it's taking a bit longer than expected, but freelance work does take precedent. I haven't forgotten about my Reasons I Should Not Be On A Talk Show either. In fact, I've done quite a few in the past months but just have not posted them. So here they are in all their glory!
